We created a unique crisscross Georgian bar design to seamlessly blend with the house’s Gothic-inspired architecture. Each bar was meticulously hand-placed onto Reynaers’ HiFinity sliding doors to ensure precision and maintain the minimal frame appearance. The sliding door floods the home with natural light and shows off the interior’s exposed brickwork design.
St John’s Road
An award-winning private dwelling that challenged conventional use of large-scale sliding doors by making them an interior architectural feature, rather than purely a connection to the outside.
This award-winning private dwelling in Chester redefined the conventional use of large-scale sliding doors by transforming them into a central interior architectural feature rather than simply a connection to the outside. The project received both the RIBA North West Award 2023 and RIBA North West Client of the Year, recognising its architectural ambition and execution.
Anglezarke designed, manufactured, and installed Crittall-style Reynaers Hi Finity inline sliding doors with custom Georgian bar designs integrated into the glazing. The design intentionally shifted focus away from the small courtyard beyond, instead using the sliding doors to control light, introduce character and create visual balance within the interior space.
Every element of the sliding doors was carefully manufactured to ensure it seamlessly fit with the home, sitting completely flush with the floor and wooden panelling. When opened, the interior expands out into the garden, creating a smooth transition between inside and outside living areas.
